How Editor Assembles and Produces a Magazine Photo Shoot – Lulu Chen

Erik: How did working as an editor at Self
Magazine challenge you to coordinate so many moving parts involved in putting together
a shoot? Lulu: Well it was really hard because a lot
of times the photo shoots would have to come together in one or two days and it goes back
to early set discipline I think, is just to take one thing at a time. As a producer for
the shoots at Self I just had to put the team together, put the visuals together get the
clothes together just as soon as I could, depending on the dead line, but you just do
the puzzle. You just to each part and you learn how to prioritize because being in a
larger corporate environment things take time, to get the advance checks, to get the insurance,
to get the advances.
