  1. Plenty of channels would give a better comparison of cameras but i still love watching Potato jet and it s mainly for his spirit and the positiveness he s spreading with his amazing smile 😀

  2. I just watched a 26-minute videocamera buying guide… I have no plans to buy one. I actually don’t even shoot that much videos! Haha Why am I subscribed here again? Haha PS Gene, if I ever see you in person I hope you won’t mind if I call you Jet. I thought that was your name when I first started watching your
    videos and it has stuck.

  3. Do you ever make movies with your cameras? Shorts, web series, anything? Would be cool to see a finished product with some of these cameras you talk about.

  4. Thanks Gene! But Arrrggghhhh this is currently my struggle! I'm just moving on from more amateur work and I want to upgrade(also waiting for a insurance payout soon 😅✌️). But because I want to change from APS-C to Full Frame I'm considering a brand change since my current lenses will need upgrading too anyway. I'm mainly a photographer shooting Nikon, but will branch out as I expand my client base…. Guys heeeellllllppppp

  5. Panasonic S1 is the best all round camera for the money. Very sharp image, super in low light, nice dynamic range, great frames per second options (4k 60fps 10bit out), also it's a fantastic photography camera.

  6. Why you never talk about S1H…? You mention Black Magic 4 and 6k, but from there just jumped to Canon C500, I don't understand it.

  7. I bought the M50 because of you and I absolutely love it. It has everything I ever wanted from a camera. It might not be a "great camera" but it's cheap, compact and the picture quality is fantastic.

  8. Thanks for the video but you are putting too much effort to suggest mostly Canon (sponsored?) cameras. Everyone knows especially on the low end, Canon cameras are crippled for video.

  9. I can’t believe you haven’t shot with the X-T3 … it checks all the boxes plus is 10bit 4:2:0 internal 4:2:2 external… X-T4 IBIS and a bigger battery

  10. Haha Gene pickup a samsung i find them better 🤣🤟
If your are a one man crew and are outside in mud/sand and salt like me …my samsung is the all round best …
Gopro is okay …but i lose them ..also not as ergonomic a phone you drop in your pants and i can do my action thing ..

  11. Only one mirrorless four thirds? What happened to Panasonic (GH5, GH5s, G9), Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III, E-M1 Mark III (or Mark II)?

  12. Me: I have a $500 budget

Gene: Put towards a new phone with a better camera.

New phone with a better camera: $1499.00

Me: Time to see what other careers I can find on craigslist. 😑 😂

  13. @Potato Jet ,

I got a question for you. How the hell do you export your videos? Mine look SO good after export on ALL my players, but my GOD, youtube's compression destroys ANYTHING I do with ANY darkness. Help us poor Scorseses out.

  14. Considering you can get something like a Panasonic GX85 for about US$250(used) and a set of Canon FDs for another $250, sounds like apple is giving you some money Potater. A proper camera with good color science, proper 4k, in body stabilization from Panasonic which is GREAT, and its pretty compact. I would never recommend an iphone over a camera like that unless portability is your main priority.

  15. Would you someday talk about second hand camera market? What to look for, what to ask and things like that. Would be VERY useful!

  16. Meh. Anything under $2000 Id look into the OG BMPCC. Its always going to look better than mirrorless cameras because of a better codec and dynamic range. Over $2000 Pocket4k and 5k+ used C200, FS5/FS7, URSA Mini. This is if image quality is 1st priority ofc.

  17. electronics manufacturing in China has stopped, coronavirus corvid 19 …. so thinking about cameras or any electronics is on hold at this time. There is news of coronavirus corvid 19 becoming a pandemic…

  18. I recommend the eos r with the tamron 24-70. I got mine for 2300 bucks over christmas time. I'm also very interested in the tamron 17-35 2.8-f4

  19. Gene's rocking the long format videos lately. Harder to hold up my New Years Resolution for watching everything twice 😂

  20. I think the nikon z6 with the 24-70 f2.8 would be great for the $2500-$5000 range since it can film 4k 12 bit raw n-log and still be good at taking stills

  21. I just got my used Nikon d7000 for $100 and I inherited lots of Nikon and Sigma lenses for free. I also got my used Panasonic GH4 with lens for $300. Forget what Potato Jet said. Find people who is willing to sell you for cheap second hand cameras. Yes, $400 for both of these two cameras and lenses. I also got my used Sony a5000 with kit lens for $110. Got my Sony fs700uk cinema camera for $500. I saw used Sony a7sii for $1100. Used Fuji XT3 for $1000. Used Samsung S7 smartphone for $150. Used 27" 1080p LED Monitor $8 (that's eight dollars)! I also bought my used Phantom 4 Pro V2 for $650 and used Mavic 2 Pro for $900. Imagine if I was to sell them- I would be making money back (profit) and even I have used it for a couple years! New tech is just hype. I just tried using Nikon d7000 ($100) and, boy, it beats any new modern smartphone any day; the interchangeable lenses, the manual control, and the feel… a real camera and you will feel like you are a professional photographer without costing your arms and legs. Learn and research older camera technology. Once you learn about the pros and cons of these older cameras and try them out, find a bargain on Kijiji, Craigslist, thrift stores, eBay, etc. Be smart and buy used, people!

  22. I wanna make short movie and i have written scripts i have a rebel t5i with 18 – 55 and i need a gimbak please give me a gimbal Gene🥺🥺

  23. Some of your videos are great, but this one was a waste of time unless you are a TOTAL novice. I stopped after a few minutes, but I understand … ya run outta stuff to make videos about after a while … but you still gotta make something to keep the money coming in.

  24. You could get a Panasonic G85 for under $500 these days. I mean you'd need a lens, but still. I think that's where the money is.

  25. If you wanna get into filmmaking, get yourself an Eos M with the 18-55mm kit lens for 150 bucks on ebay (the first Eos M from 2012) and install Magic Lantern on it. Thank me later.

  26. one good option for 2500, which it the Fujifilm XT3 + the Fujinon 16-55mm f2.8. Really solid combo and much better at everything than the Sony, except lowlight performance and maybe AF.
