Kristen Asher Photography – What I’m About

Photography transcends time. These
moments, you never get them back. I would say my favorite part of the job
is delivering images to the client. People get so overwhelmed with emotion.
I’ve had people cry I’ve had people hug me. It’s just a really nice feeling to
make them so happy with what I’ve given to them and they’re always going to have
that special moment to look back on and I’m just happy that I get to be a part
of it. I think it’s really important to engage with my clients. I like to capture
them in a way that they feel comfortable. I have children I know some tricks to
gey them happy and smiling. I’ve liked photography since I was a kid
and as I went into high school and worked in the darkroom, putting the sheet
of paper into the developer was just so exciting for me just waiting for that
image to appear. I went to the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and I got a
Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography. You want to be able to have someone that
knows composition, knows light, knows the inner workings of a camera, so you can
get a beautifully exposed photograph and something that’s going to hold up
through the test of time. You want something that’s a large file that’s
printable, not something that’s small and going to sit on your phone that you may
lose or forget about. What separates me from other photographers is that I am
also a custom picture framer. I co-own a store at Jamesport Art and Framing so I
can give you the full treatment. I can take your photos, have them
professionally printed as well, and custom framed. Preserving your memories is one
of the most important things you can do for yourself and your families. Having a
photograph is something that’s going to last you longer than probably anything
else you’re going to have in your lifetime
